Eyeing You and Gold Soul

Two of my photo assemblages are in Cambridge Art Association’s Glimmer exhibition. This show was juried by Jessica Roscio, Director of the Danforth Art Museum in Framingham, MA.

Roscio described Glimmer as follows: Glimmer can imply many things, from the narrow to the explosive, and this is seen in the diversity of the works on view. A glimmer is an abstraction. It suggests a brief movement, a sense of mystery or an inkling of hope, but it is more feeling than form.

These vintage teacups, Eyeing You and Gold Soul, are transformed with vintage portraits printed on silk organza and a vintage distressed escutcheon, which is a piece of metal for attaching door handles. I love bringing disparate parts together and creating a new object.
